The Children’s & Family Support Worker is responsible for delivering the Family Support Worker’s responsibilities under the supervision and direction of the Executive Director.

25-30 Hours, $18.00 per hour, Monday to Thursdays, no evenings, or weekends

Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience in child-minding and planning and implementing age-based activities
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to meet the demands of the position that including cleaning services, childcare, apartment preparation, and client life skills development
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Effective written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to work on own and within a team environment
  • Must have current CPR, Emergency First Aid, Adult Abuse Registry, Child Abuse Registry and Criminal Record Check
  • Must have access to a vehicle

Responsibilities:

  • Provides childcare for clients who are in counseling sessions, appointments, or in need of respite
  • Facilitates age-appropriate activities and outings with the Children’s Counsellor. Involved in both planning and implementing recreational or play-based groups for children and mothers
  • Cleans and preps apartments for new families
  • Ensures the childcare space is cleaned on a daily basis
  • Puts together monthly food hampers for the clients
  • Completes weekly apartment inspections for all clients
  • Attends staff meetings and must be able to work with team members to build positive relationships in a collaborative and respective environment to enhance the overall organizational effectiveness
  • Maintains agency confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential
  • Maintains a strictly confidential/professional relationship with clients
  • Engages in regular supervision with the Executive Director
  • Adhere to all agency policies, protocols, and best practices
